Objectives

• To convert barren lands for agricultural cultivation through systematic land development.
• To level the lands with gentle slopes for better irrigation, to form bunds to prevent soil erosion
• Formation of irrigation tanks, ponds for aqua culture ,de-silting of existing tanks canals
• Development of Watersheds for optimum utilization of water
• Preparation of lands for afforestation
• To clear the jungle by uprooting and levelling in forest lands

During the year 2005-06 the corporation achieved 43,596 machine hours as against the revised target of 40,000 hours

Under land development the farmers  can hire the dozers for levelling the uneven Uncultivatable barren lands or lands with jungle growth, for cultivation, duly forming farm bunds etc., The farmers will be given dozers at concessional rates on hire
Most of the dozers are being used for land development under CLDP programme organized by District collectors. The government issued orders in GO MS No 5 dt 11-1-05 nominating AP Agros as nodal agency for carrying out land development works of all the departments

The corporation over past 35 years has developed  large extent of land under sri Ramsagar project, Nagarjuna sagar Left canal and Right canal. The corporation also constructed large number of tanks for aqua culture and developed land for afforestation. The corporation has logged in close to 3 million hours of bull dozers time in this endeavour
Thus Agros helped the farming community and brought 6 lakhs acres of land into cultivation and thus contributing significantly for increased agricultural production

The corporation attends the above activity and provides effective service support to farming community through its field units located at various places as indicated hereunder > At regional offices located at Hyd, Jagityal, Visakhapatnam
